For a finitely supported nonnegative function μ of sum one, let Ft={x:μ(x)>t}. Then ∫0∞∣Ft∣dt=1 and ∫0∞∣Ft△gFt∣dt=∥μ−λ(g)μ∥1. If the sum of these latter integrals over a finite set of translations is less than ε, some nonempty level set has the sum of its relative boundaries less than ε. This converts the Reiter condition into finite Følner sets without assuming that the group is finitely generated.
