For
H=21∑j=1n(qj2+pj2),
(1)
the functions Ij=(qj2+pj2)/2 are independent almost everywhere, Poisson commute, and sum to H. A regular common level Ij=cj>0 is the product of circles of radii 2cj, hence an invariant n-torus. Allowing some cj=0 gives lower-dimensional singular tori.
