For a zero-one Boolean function on the unbiased Boolean hypercube with flip-probability influences βi≤β, the displayed bound holds for sufficiently small β>0. If it fails, write b=log(1/β)/3. The total influence identity puts at least half the nonconstant Fourier weight on levels 1≤∣S∣≤b. The hypercontractive weighted influence bound at δ=e−1 then gives ∑iβi2/(1+δ)≥2bδbVar(f). Its upper bound β(1−δ)/(1+δ)∑iβi contradicts (1−δ)/(1+δ)>1/3.
