For I=∫ε∞e−x−ε/xdx/x, the omitted interval becomes J−I=∫1∞e−t−ε/tdt/t. A uniform Taylor expansion gives J−I=E1(1)−ε[e−1−E1(1)]+O(ε2). Subtracting this correction from the logarithmic expansion of a symmetric exponential integral preserves both the constant and first-order coefficient.
