NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory report on Mars orbiter observations of the seasonal regional-storm sequence. The discussion identifies warmer southern spring and summer and perihelion near the end of southern spring. This gives climatological context; a Kelvin-wave dispersion relation alone does not determine a particular storm date.
