On every compact set disjoint from the lattice, the summand
(z−ω)21−ω21
(1)
is bounded by C∣ω∣−3 for all sufficiently large ∣ω∣. Since the lattice sum of ∣ω∣−3 converges, the defining series for ℘ converges normally.
