In the prescribed along-beam scalar model U=A(ξ)cosωt with A=U0e−λξ, the first-order fluid displacement is Asinωt/ω. Its leading sampled-velocity correction is −λA2sin(2ωt)/(2ω), whose period average vanishes. This result concerns the supplied component model and does not determine an Eulerian mean streaming flow.
