Uniform convergence means that for every ε>0 there is an integer N, independent of x, such that ∣Fn(x)−F(x)∣<ε for all n≥N and every x∈(0,1). Equivalently sup0<x<1∣Fn(x)−F(x)∣→0. In pointwise convergence, the required N may depend on the chosen x.
