The Pauli matrices obey σx2=σy2=I and σxσy+σyσx=0, so A=cosϕσx+sinϕσy has A2=I. Its entries are A12=cosϕ−isinϕ=e−iϕ and A21=eiϕ, with zero diagonal. Substitute this matrix into the involution exponential formula:
e−iθA=(cosθ−ieiϕsinθ−ie−iϕsinθcosθ).
