Subtracting twice the first linear congruence from the second gives 5x≡1(mod53). Since 5⋅32=3⋅53+1, the modular inverse of 5 modulo 53 is 32. Thus x≡32(mod53). Substitution in the first linear congruence then gives 2y≡23(mod53), whence y≡38(mod53). All integer solutions are
x=32+53r,y=38+53t,r,t∈Z.

The two free integers are independent. Conversely, these values give 6x+2y≡268≡3 and 17x+4y≡696≡7(mod53), so no additional restriction is needed.
