Again let A={a1,…,am} with m>1, and enumerate B={b1,b2,…}. For each infinite binary sequence x=(xj)j≥1, define a function gx by
gx(bi)=ai(1≤i≤m),gx(bm+j)={a1,a2,xj=0,xj=1.
(1)
The first m values make every gx a surjective function, while the remaining values recover x uniquely. Hence x↦gx is an injective function from the uncountable set of binary sequences into S2. This proves S2 is an uncountable set, an instance of uncountability of surjections onto a nontrivial finite set.
