The Radon-Riesz property of a norm is the implication
uk⇀u,∥uk∥→∥u∥⟹∥uk−u∥→0.
(1)
In a Hilbert space, expand the square using its inner product:
∥uk−u∥2=∥uk∥2+∥u∥2−2Re⟨uk,u⟩.
(2)
Weak convergence gives ⟨uk,u⟩→∥u∥2, and convergence of norms gives ∥uk∥2→∥u∥2. Hence the right side tends to zero. This proves the Hilbert-space Radon-Riesz theorem.
