b
Because 1<p<∞, Lp is reflexive, so a bounded sequence has a weakly convergent subsequence gjk⇀g. Then
∣∫gjk(hk−h)∣≤K∥hk−h∥q→0,
(1)
and weak convergence handles ∫gjkh. Thus the displayed limit holds (with the evident OCR correction ∫gh on the right).
Strong convergence of the tests is essential: in L2(0,2π) take the same orthonormal sequence for gj and hj. Both converge weakly to zero, but ∫gjhj=1.
