The Young subgroup for (1n) is trivial. Hence MC(1n) is the regular representation of Sn. The subgroup-average formula reduces to
m(1n),μ=χμ(1)=dimSCμ=∏u∈[μ]h(u)n!.
(1)
This is the usual multiplicity of an irreducible representation in the regular representation.
