For a real triplet potential λ(∣ϕ∣2−v2)2/8 and canonical gauge coupling gc, unitary gauge gives one neutral Higgs mode, two oppositely charged massive vectors and one massless Abelian vector. The scalar kinetic contribution is 21(∂η)2+gc2(v+η)2W+W−, and its potential is λv2η2/2+λvη3/2+λη4/8. This potential convention is distinct from using λ(∣ϕ∣2−v2)2/4.
