Proximity photolithography

Mask-based optical pattern transfer across a small noncontact gap. Fresnel diffraction across the gap blurs edges; a common resolution estimate is $w=k\sqrt{\lambda g}$ for wavelength $\lambda$, gap $g$ and process factor $k$.
