For 0<a<1, integrate eaz/(1+ez) around a rectangle of imaginary height 2π. Its single pole at πi has residue −eπia, the top-edge integral is −e2πia times the bottom-edge integral, and both vertical sides vanish at large real width. The residue theorem gives ∫Reax/(1+ex)dx=π/sin(πa). Substitution t=ex gives the equivalent integral ∫0∞ta−1/(1+t)dt.
