For σ(M,0)=SM−q with q=(n+3)/6>0, matching the Press-Schechter halo mass function to AMq−2exp[−(M/M∗)2q] requires σ(M∗,0)=δc(z)/2. The comoving normalization is A=2qρˉm,0M∗−q/π. Consequently both A and M∗ evolve with the linear growth factor; M∗∝D1/q.
