For a singular strong limit cardinal λ, let μ=cf(λ) and choose cofinal cardinals λi<λ. Subset restrictions inject P(λ) into ∏i<μP(λi), whose cardinal is at most λμ by the strong-limit property. Conversely λμ≤(2λ)μ=2λ. This equality alone does not imply the singular cardinals hypothesis.
