For a=a0(1+ϵ), equilibrium outer radius b0, and a bubble gas obeying p0πa2=constant, the linearization is
ρa02loga0b0ϵ¨=−2p∞ϵ.
(1)
The bubble therefore undergoes simple harmonic motion with
ω2=ρa02log(b0/a0)2p∞.
