The multiplication (x′,y′,z′)(x,y,z)=(x′+e−z′x,y′+ez′y,z′+z) defines the three-dimensional Sol Lie group. Its left-invariant vector fields e−z∂x,ez∂y,∂z have dual coframe ezdx,e−zdy,dz. Their sum of squares is a left-invariant metric, ds2=e2zdx2+e−2zdy2+dz2.
