Specular first-order mean reflection (⟨ψsc⟩=(−1+2iqi⟨f⟩)eipix+iqiz)

For incident amplitude one, ψi=eipix−iqiz with qi>0, Taylor expansion of a small-height Dirichlet boundary condition gives ψsc[1](x,0)=2iqif(x)eipix. If the mean height is constant, its mean transform is supported only at tangential wavenumber pi, giving the displayed specular mean through first order. Small height alone is insufficient: deterministic mean height acosKx produces mean sidebands pi±K. Stationary roughness has constant mean and therefore satisfies the first-order requirement.
