Put A(t)=∑p≤t(logp)/p. The Mertens first theorem gives A(t)=logt+O(1). Partial summation yields
∑p≤xplogp=logxA(x)+21∫2xt(logt)3/2A(t)dt.

The main terms sum to 2logx up to a constant. The error integral is bounded because ∫2∞dt/(t(logt)3/2) converges. Thus a prime sum with a fractional logarithmic weight follows from an elementary bounded-error estimate, without the Prime number theorem.
