Write n=∏pap and d=∏pbp, with 0≤bp≤ap. The prime-power formula for the Euler totient function gives an integer contribution to φ(n)/φ(d) from each prime: it is pap−bp when bp>0, and pap−1(p−1) when bp=0<ap. Multiplying proves the divisibility assertion, including d=1 with φ(1)=1.
