The Hellinger distance convention h2(P,Q)=∫(p−q)2dν, with no factor 1/2, for densities under a common dominating measure. Its range is [0,2]. This convention makes TV(P,Q)≤h(P,Q)≤KL(P,Q) hold with the displayed constants.
