The vertical breathing mode is a coherent oscillation of a disk's thickness. For an adiabatic gas with pressure proportional to $H^{1-\gamma }$ in a harmonic vertical potential, ${\omega }_H=\sqrt{\gamma +1}{\Omega }_z$.
