Walsh character (${\chi }_S$)

For $S\subseteq [n]$, the Walsh character on the Boolean hypercube is ${\chi }_S(x)={\prod }_{i\in S}{x}_i$, equivalently $(-1{)}^{{\sum }_{i\in S}{x}_i}$ in the zero-one convention.
