Robert Todd Lincoln (1843-1926) was the eldest son of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, and Mary Todd Lincoln. He had a notable career as a lawyer and businessman and served as the U.S. Secretary of War under Presidents James Garfield and William Howard Taft. He was present at the assassination of his father in 1865 and went on to lead a prominent life, including serving as the president of the Pullman Company.
