An adhesive sphere-on-flat contact approximation combining Hertzian contact deformation with an attractive force outside the contact area. It is most appropriate for sufficiently stiff, small-radius contacts with a small Tabor parameter; a fitted reduced modulus is not automatically the sample Young's modulus.
