 Fermi temperature

The Fermi temperature expresses a Fermi energy as a temperature scale, $T_F=E_F/k_B$, where $k_B$ is the Boltzmann constant. In the convention $E_F>0$ measured from the relevant band minimum, $T\ll T_F$ is the regime of a strongly degenerate Fermi gas. For an interacting Fermi liquid, an effective Fermi scale can be introduced through its quasiparticle dispersion; its convention should be specified.
