 Pumped-storage hydroelectricity

Water is pumped to an upper reservoir and later discharged through a turbine. For approximately constant head, useful discharge energy is $\eta \rho Vgh$ while power is $\eta \rho Qgh$; reservoir volume and flow rating set different properties.
