For the A2 root system, ω1=(2α1+α2)/3 and ω2=(α1+2α2)/3. The weight lattice P=Zω1+Zω2 contains the root lattice Q with index three. In fundamental coordinates (a,b), root-lattice membership is a−b≡0(mod3).
