By positive unfolding of a cusp-form square, ∑∣an∣2n−β<∞ for β>k. Choose k<β<2σ−1. The Cauchy-Schwarz inequality bounds the absolute sum for the L-function of a cusp form by
(∑n≥1∣an∣2n−β)1/2(∑n≥1n−(2σ−β))1/2<∞.
