For smooth positive f, let L=f−1∇⋅(f∇)+k2. Its unweighted bilinear transpose is the displayed operator. If v satisfies αv+β∂nv=0, its transpose boundary condition is αu+β(∂nu−u∂nlogf)=0. The resulting Green kernels satisfy GL(r2,r1)=GLT(r1,r2). Equivalently GLT(r,r2)=f(r)GL(r,r2)/f(r2), exhibiting weighted acoustic Green-function reciprocity.
