For a full Euclidean lattice and a positive definite real symmetric matrix A, the Gaussian theta sum obeys
θΛ(A)=covol(Λ)−1(detA)−1/2θΛ∗(A−1).
(1)
Use the Fourier transform kernel e−2πix⋅z, the identity e−πxTAx(z)=(detA)−1/2e−πzTA−1z, and the Poisson summation formula for a Euclidean lattice. No integrality or self-duality of the Euclidean lattice is assumed.
