Lapse rate (atmosphere, $\Gamma$)

The atmospheric lapse rate is the decrease of temperature with altitude, $\Gamma =-dT/dz$. In an ideal gas with constant gravity, a constant lapse rate produces a power-law relation between temperature and pressure.
