For ky=0 and kz=0, pressure elimination gives v˙x=2Ωχvy−νk2vx and v˙y=−2(Ω−A)vx−νk2vy, where χ=kz2/k2. The inviscid frequency is the radial epicyclic frequency times χ. With w=vx/χ, (Ω−A)∣w∣2+Ω∣vy∣2 is conserved when viscosity vanishes. In a Keplerian flow it bounds kinetic-energy amplification by four, whereas with zero rotation the same system has the algebraic lift-up effect.
