For the spatially homogeneous Brusselator with parameters r,s>0, set α=r/(1+s). The quadrilateral
α≤x,0≤y≤αs,x+y≤r+αs
(1)
is a trapping region. The four inward-pointing tests use x˙≥0 on x=α, y˙≥0 on y=0, y˙≤0 on y=s/α, and x˙+y˙=r−x≤0 on the sloping edge.
