Canonical field normalization rescales a field so that its kinetic term has unit coefficient. For a chiral superfield with K=ZΦ†Φ, the change Φc​=Z1/2Φ turns holomorphic superpotential parameters into canonical parameters mc​=m/Z and gc​=g/Z3/2.
