Character group of a finite abelian group ($\hat{G}$)

The character group $\hat{G}$ consists of the group homomorphisms $\gamma :G\to {\mathbb{C}}^{\times }$. Pointwise multiplication makes it a finite abelian group isomorphic to $G$.
