The complex form of a Fourier series for period 2L uses coefficients cn=(2L)−1∫−LLf(x)e−inπx/Ldx and complex exponentials einπx/L. For square-integrable functions it converges in the L2 norm, and the Parseval identity is (2L)−1∫∣f∣2=∑n∣cn∣2. Real functions satisfy c−n=cn.
