The conduction linearization has two negative eigenvalues and a cubic factor s3+As2+Bs+C, where A=σ+1+ζ, B=σ(1−r)+σζ(1+q)+ζ, C=σζ(1+q−r). A double zero requires B=C=0, giving the displayed Bogdanov–Takens bifurcation location for 0<ζ<1. The remaining cubic eigenvalue is −A. The imaginary-pair condition AB=C yields rH=(σ+ζ)(1+ζ)/σ+ζ(σ+ζ)q/(σ+1) and ω2=σζ(1−ζ)q/(σ+1)−ζ2. Thus the oscillatory onset exists precisely for q>q∗ when 0<ζ<1.
