For ds2=a2(dτ2−dx2) and a homogeneous canonical scalar, ρ=ϕ′2/(2a2)+V is the physical density, whereas T00=a2ρ. At w=−1/3, the kinetic and potential energies are K=ρ/3 and V=2ρ/3, so ϕ′2=2a2ρ/3=2T00/3. A single power of ϕ′ cannot replace the square in this energy identity.
