With fixed inlet thickness h0 and velocity u0, and nose tension 4μhNux=ρg′hN2/2, integrating momentum gives ux=ρg′h/(8μ). For a slice injected at t0, write τ=t−t0 and T=8μ/(ρg′h0). Its thickness, velocity and position are h=h0/(1+τ/T), u=u0(1+τ/T), and x=u0[τ+τ2/(2T)]. Eliminating its age gives the steady profile behind the nose, while the nose is the slice with the earliest injection time.
