Cyclic shift operator
For the cyclic shift S∣j⟩=∣j+1modN⟩ and the convention
QFTN∣k⟩=N−1/2∑je2πijk/N∣j⟩,
(1)
the Fourier states obey
SQFTN∣k⟩=e−2πik/NQFTN∣k⟩.
(2)
Consequently S=QFTNDQFTN−1, where D∣k⟩=e−2πik/N∣k⟩.
