D1-brane ($T_{D1}=1/(2\pi g_s{\alpha }^{\prime })$)

A D1-brane has one spatial dimension and couples to the two-form Ramond–Ramond potential. Its tension differs from the fundamental string tension by a factor $g_s^{-1}$ at zero axion.
