With Euclidean curvature coupling (4π)−1∫hφR, a constant dilaton contributes φ0χ by the Gauss-Bonnet theorem. The genus-g closed-string weight is e−φ0χ=gs2g−2 with gs=eφ0. If the coefficient is instead written as ∫hΦR, then in the same convention φ=4πΦ. The field normalization must be fixed before reading off the coupling.
