When σ=nHC−nkBTI and the bead hydrodynamic mobility matrix is (I+ασ)/ζ, α has inverse-stress units. With pT=nkBT, A=HC/(kBT) and b=αpT, the dimensionless mobility is M=(1−b)I+bA. Thus 0<b<1 and a positive-definite conformation tensor ensure a positive-definite mobility. The closed constitutive equation is λσ∇+σ+ασ2=μ(G+GT), with λ=ζ/(4H) and μ=λpT. This dimensional α differs from conventions in which the symbol denotes b itself.
