For Ly=−y′′−2ay′, setting y=e−axv gives Ly=e−ax(−v′′+a2v). Dirichlet conditions are unchanged. The weighted self-adjoint form is −e−2ax(e2axy′)′, with weight e2ax. On an interval of length L, eigenvalues are (nπ/L)2+a2 and eigenfunctions are e−axsin(nπx/L).
