For ideal isolated spherical collapse, energy conservation and the virial theorem give Rvir=Rta/2 and ρvir=8ρta if the density-profile shape is unchanged. The cycloid gives tcoll=2tta and ρta/ρˉ(tta)=9π2/16. Since the Einstein-de Sitter universe has ρˉ∝t−2, the overdensity at the nominal collapse time is 32(9π2/16)=18π2. Hence ρvir=18π2ρ0(1+zcoll)3. The collapse time is that of the formal cold solution; actual virialization replaces its point collapse.
